Opened in January of 2018, this beautiful, state of the art, six bed facility allows Hospice of Laramie to expand the services offered to our community. In-patient hospice care is provided when an individual’s disease progression must be closely monitored and/or in order to manage pain that cannot safely be managed at home or when the caregiver is no longer able to manage at home.
We also offer respite care for an individual who is at home but whose caregiver is in need of relief for a short period of time.
The facility was designed to resemble a home rather than a medical facility. The patient suites feature a bedroom for the patient, a family room where a family member may spend nights, or families can gather to be close to their loved one. The nurses’ station is nearby and there is a small refreshment nook for beverages and snacks, while a full, commercial kitchen is available for those who wish to cook. Otherwise, meals are provided for our patients who need them. There is a large, comfortable living space as well as a beautiful outdoor area that our patients, families, and friends are welcome to enjoy.
Hospice House features a children’s room where they can go to play or just hang out with the stuffed animals, a library for peace or reading and reference. One of the highlights of Hospice House is our Meditation Sanctuary, located at the end of the entry hall. All are welcome in this quiet, serene space.
