Hospice is a program which addresses the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of anyone with a terminal illness through a holistic approach. Emphasis is always on maintaining or improving the quality of the time remaining for the patient and their family. This is supported by efficient pain and symptom control provided by the patient’s physician and hospice nurse, using volunteers, spiritual counseling, bereavement specialists, and social workers to provide further support.
